Ok… first let’s start with the whole Quad Display thing, which is an unusual feature for a dock/hub, as usually these max out at 3. There is a reason 3 is the “magic number”, it’s because that’s the most number of displays most mainstream laptops can handle. This includes the laptop’s display, so if you want to keep using the laptop’s screen, it’s only two externals. If you close the lid, you can use 3 etc. There are tweaks around this, but mostly that’s how it works.

Point is – there is zero need for quad, since most people won’t be able to use it anyway. And there is especially zero need for quad where the 4th connector is the uber obsolete VGA. It’s a gimmicky marketing feature, at best, or just them trying to cram too much stuff to make the dock look like it has “more features”.

All that said…

If you treat it like a normal Triple Display dock, this is not a bad price.
