De-Kraptomization in progress…
Kraptomizer is getting a long overdue re-work.
As a quick TLDR: there are two feeds on the site that pick up “random” deals – Kraptomizer and Pussycat. Pussycat runs twice a week when Amazon releases their overstock deals (30-50%+). Right now this is at 1am Wednesdays, and 1pm Saturdays. Kraptomizer runs every 6 hours and picks up the latest price drops from Keepa. Ultimately they often end up picking up the same exact deals, just from different sources.
So, one immediate change is that “old Pussycat” and everything in between now shows up in Kraptomizer. So Pussycat updated overnight, and anything that was from previous (Saturday) run is now in Kraptomizer. Provided they meet the requirements, the “in between” deals that show up on non-outlet daily runs will also show up there now.
Qualification criteria has been tightened quite a bit. All categories now have a desired typical and list drop values. If they are not met, the item is brutally chopped from the batch. For most categories drop from typical price is set at 50%, and around 70% from list. Some, like Additive Manufacturing (aka 3D Printing stuff) are set at 30/50. Noisy categories like Bluetooth Headphones are set to 70/85 or similar. Point is – it is now much tougher for an item to qualify, and a much better chance that if an items makes it past the filters – it’s a good deal.
Still a work in progress, so things may/will change… still adjusting. I may’ve overcooked it a bit with high limits, which gatekeeps way too many deals. Poke around…
