Pussycat is busted… and so am I. Back on Monday.
The feed that provides deal data for Pussycat is on the fritz… without it there is no Pussycat, as there is no way for me to isolate just the overstock (50%) off deals without quite literally getting data on each and every single item in a given category individually. So basically – impossible.
Amazon doesn’t provide this data, so this is a 3’rd party feed i pay for. They are aware of the problem, and are trying to fix it, but there is no ETA, or even assurances that it will ever work again.
For those that are regulars here, this may sound familiar – it happens before EVERY single Prime Day sale. Was a problem last year, and year before, etc. Amazon “changes something”, and it screws up whatever the 3rd party api was using to get the data. Amazon recently modified their outlet section, and these deals are coming from that section, so……. let’s just hope they get it working again, because that’s not always the case. In the time i’ve been using this feed they keep losing features due to Amazon changes. Some of you may remember – we used to get the deal schedule a day ahead, which was very nice.
On my end, on the tail end of dealing with a nasty flu that had me pretty much knocked out through most of this week. Kind of over it now, but missed a lot of time, and now have to catch up on about a week’s worth of actual work over this weekend.
Back on Monday… well, at least i am. Still remains to be seen what happens with Pussycat.
