Personally, I think that filament has come a LONG way over the last few years. While you some is noticeably better like polymaker and some isn’t great like Creality’s solein it’s unusual to find bad filament that you have to throw away instead of being able to find a use for it.

Enter TEQStone. The only roll of filament I’ve thrown away in the last year and a half because it was so bad. It was so brittle I couldn’t even leave it on the printer for an hour without it snapping under the tiny amount of bowing from leaving the spool. The stringing was unbelievable for the few prints I actually was able to make and a temperature tower didn’t provide a good temperature to print it because they all looked terrible. I didn’t even bother trying to tune retraction at that point.

This was straight out of the vacuum bag and even though I don’t typically dry PLA that I’ve just opened I even tried that for 4 hours and tried reprinting because it seemed like moisture was a factor. It didn’t get any better. I tried drying it for 8 hours. If anything it was even more brittle.

Considering I’ve only used their PLA and not their PETG and my sample size was limited to one spool, I can’t say “don’t buy this.” I can say however that I won’t be buying any more filament from this brand and it has been indelibly marked in my memory as the single worst filament I’ve ever had the misfortune of using.

I appreciate the information as I was unaware that they were all associated. I’ve only ever used Giantarm out of those mentioned and I can’t say it was a negative experience. I might give TEQStone another chance at some point if I come across a good deal on it after seeing this information. After all, I just saw a lawsuit against Titleist for what appears to be a failure of QA and if a company that stringent on QA standards can have something slip through the cracks, perhaps I’ll give them a pass on that roll.
