Kind of like Pussycat – low hit ratio, but high reward feed. Lots of crap, but buried in it are some solid deals.
Random price drops on random crap picked up from Keepa.
Keepa is very good for price history, but for recently updated stuff it’s very much hit or miss. Sometimes it nails it on prices, but there are also times where it just looks like it’s either misfiring really badly, or just outright hallucinating. Plus ultimately Keepa (or any price tracker) doesn’t know if what it’s picking up is a good deal, just a good price on that particular item compared to previous prices. This can be, and is, very much manipulated by some sellers who figured out how to “game the system”.
I have done some filtering, but it’s more of a hatchet approach rather than a scalpel. Each batch usually comes in with about 2,000+ items, which after “the hatchet” ends up at around 300+. I am a thousand percent sure i’m losing some legit deals in the process, and some garbage still slips through, so more tuning is needed. I’ll start refining this after Prime Day.
Updates every two hours on the evens in the ending minutes of the hour. Picks up everything in the same categories as Pussycat (this will expand) that show at least a 50% off drop on Keepa in the last 24 hours. Retains only entries where delta of 1, 7, 30, 90 days is greater than 40%, ensuring that these are genuine price drops, and not sellers futzing around yanking the price up and down daily (most of the stuff Keepa returns).
Not the best approach, and does need a lot more tuning, but it’s a good start 🙂
