50% off code is dead, New discount making it $22.99. Normally I try to stay away from smart home stuff, but TP-Link does a decent job, and there is usually alternative firmware out there that removes the cloud components out.

50% off is still working for me. I just had to manually enter the code to get it to work. Any particular search terms or names I should look for to learn more about the alternative firmware? Sorry if that seems like a silly question, this is just the first I’ve heard of such an option.

Yeah, I got it to work, amazon was dumping me into the same item from a different seller.

Model Alternative Firmware is usually enough. Turns out the C110 can be setup without needing the app if you log into it directly. There is also an open API that can be used. Overall not perfect, but if you hate having the run indivual apps, it is do able.

Stupid bug that pops up once in a while…

Site strips out the seller id (and all the other info that’s not relevant, or it doesn’t think is relevant) from the link in the product card. It’s technically a feature (makes the cleanest link possible), and not a bug, and i don’t know how to stop it… yet.

Some promos are setup where the link needs the seller id, or it takes you to the wrong item. Same asin#, same product etc, but wrong item. Following the link from the promo always works. It may not always auto-register the discount at checkout, and you may still need to copy/paste the code, but at least it will take you to the right item 🙂

I can fix this by manually redoing the product card, which fixes the problem most of the time (just did it now), but even then – the surest way is just to go through the promo link.
