I’ve caught this a few times now, and it drives me bananas…
The product card is made from Amazon’s api, which strips out all the info out of the link except for the ASIN, and then adds the affiliate tag, and whatever other gibberish the api automatically inserts.
The link from the promo has a merchant id parameter (“m=”), which the api strips out, and without which you end up OOS.
Weird, because again – same ASIN, same product/seller, etc… so shouldn’t happen, but……
