Amazon is having some “technical difficulties” today…

Backend (aka where i get promo codes) is down, and just throwing up 500 errors. Frontend of Amazon is kind of sort of slowly slugging along, but most importantly – there are all kinds of difficulties with queries, so anything involving browsing is an issue. I attempted to browse the filament section, but every time i got a few pages in (like page 5 of 40+) it would reset and say no items found.

I happen to be in the US-East-1 region…

So, while this is happening all automated feeds will be misfiring. They all depend on Amazon’s api in one way or another, and that api is “not doing great” today. Sometimes it hangs, and sometimes it returns hallucinations for prices, etc.

Monday is when a lot of deals roll over, and there is usually at least something decent that pops up. I’m having a hard time finding anything today. It’s entirely possible that it’s just a dud day… these happen. But the fact that i can’t browse Amazon, and can’t pull data in reliably is not helping 🙂

Hopefully they’ll fix this soon…
