HOT Deal

Back today, but the action starts tomorrow.

Had to take some time off to deal with some family things… some emergencies, some are just long overdue.

Everything is fine, things are taken care of, but lost of a LOT of time. Site, and site progress have been literally frozen in time since my last post… pretty much.

So…

Prime day is tomorrow. I see at least two dozen deals in 3d printing that are coming up before noon PST… and that’s just the ones that they have marked as Prime Day Deals. So, busy day ahead, and i’m kind of keeping my powder dry for today…. pretty much everything is going to be cheaper tomorrow 🙂

And an update on automation…

I have two api variants running on two different test sites. One i gave up on for now, as that api is just too inconsistent, and i’m saying this politely because their dev is responsive and is working on fixing things, but basically – it pulls things out of it’s *ss half the time. The results are just too inaccurate to be used right now, but i plan to come back to it once/if their dev figures it out.

Second one has been working mostly fine. It’s buggy, and bit janky, but works…. mostly. Everything has been kind of frozen, so i haven’t had a chance to really play around, but it seems to always run into some kind of a hiccup…. eventually. Problems have been minor so far, and most are easily fixed with random checkboxes in settings, but there seems to be a steady never ending procession of them, with a new one popping up every other day or so. I want to give it 4-5 days of running perfectly (or as close to perfectly as i can get) on a test site, before moving it live. So far the best i got was 3 full days. On day 4 it deleted all the posts as part of the daily cleanup… including all the posts it wasn’t supposed to, like the ones i made manually. A bit of an “oooopsie” on a test site, disaster on a live one 🙂

So, not ready for prime time yet, especially during Prime Day, but soon…

In the meantime, what the test site does great is serve as a “troth” of sorts. It may hiccup occasionally, but it pulls a lot of the stuff in that i would otherwise have to go out and look for, so it should save a bunch of time looking for deals. This also includes categories outside of 3dprinting, like tools and computers, etc. Will come in very handy in the next day or two.

It’s been quiet, but the quiet is over…. expect a flood of deals tomorrow 🙂
