It’s a cold, slow winter… and it’s about to get colder, and slower.
It’s not like things were “hopping” to begin with, but we’re about to enter the slowest time of the year… at least in our section.
Chinese/Lunar New Year is about to start (it’s the year of the Dragon), which is a two week celebration, where China is basically “on vacation”. AliEx (or at least the China based AliEx sellers), for example, will gladly take your order, but will not ship items until mid February. It’s not that much different on manufacturer direct sites. Stuff that’s in US will ship (but turnaround will be much slower), stuff that’s in China will have to wait.
Amazon will be Amazon… stuff will ship out just like it always does, but things will be super slow in terms of deals. Most of the sellers (or at least “the bosses”) are China based, and most of them will either be completely out, or on a “holiday schedule”. This basically means nothing will be happening… at least in our section. Stuff that pops up in “random” should fare a little better, simply because there is so much more of it to choose from.
There are always Lightning Deals, and other pre-scheduled sales, so it’s not going to be completely dead, but things will feel kind of “frozen” for a while… with prices being kind of ‘meh on most things, and sticking around much longer.
Things should start “defrosting” as we enter Spring, hopefully sooner. For now, expect a parade of ‘meh deals to start appearing on the site, because that’s pretty much all that’s out there.
