Bigger gears for better soft filament grip, much much more compact, and uses the nema14 pancake motors which are themselves smaller and lighter than nema17. Of course you can use the BMG clone gears with a nema14 36mm in a printed extruder like the mini/micro sherpa or voron stealthburner too. But you’ll pay $20-25 for the excellent Moons 36mm motor alone, so this is a bargain.
So I see these pop up quite a bit. Is this type of extruder better than a bmg clone? I image it’s lighter. Anything else?
